About
Manon is an American oil painter based in Brooklyn. Her work explores dark feminism and entertains the proposition that the Western mind is inherently masculine—not only in its gaze, but in its structure. Her paintings are less concerned with critiquing the gaze itself and more invested in the psychic experience of being its object and the effect on subjective experience.
Often driven by a desire for connection, Manon’s paintings are always personal. She believes that a singularity of beauty and truth establish the vessel for narrative experience to enter the collective.
Her technique oscillates between two modes: gestures of wild and unrestrained expression and periods of careful, deliberate brushwork, often creating a visual effect that mirrors internal states. This duality is a defining feature of her style and content.
Largely self-taught, Manon’s artistic voice has been shaped by years of independent exploration. A pivotal moment in her development came during a 2025 residency in France, where immersion in a new creative community deepened her practice and expanded her dialogue with the wider art world.
